City House plans unveiled

City House in Leeds is to be transformed into a "flagship sustainable building" offering more than 110,000 sq ft of office space, Insider can reveal. Bruntwood said its ambitious plans, to be unveiled today at the Unfold property conference in Leeds Town Hall, will remodel a forgotten landmark at the heart of the city updating it for the 21st century.

Viridas in £750,000 finance plan
Leeds-based Viridas is raising £750,000 through a placing of loan notes, it said today. The move by the green fuel business is said to "constitute a major part of a proposed significant re-positioning of the company".

Bradford & Bingley back in black
Bradford & Bingley (B&B) has returned to profit for the year to 31 December 2010. The bank posted an underlying pre-tax profit of £200.1m, up from a £166.5m loss in 2009.

Leeds is the region's "economic engine" - Wakefield

Rotherham-based Inditherm has reported a pre-tax loss on ordinary activities of £409,000 in its preliminary results for the year to 31 December 2010. The heating products business said market conditions improved in 2010 following the "economic challenges of 2009" though it has enjoyed a "good performance" in its medical business.

Sheffield property market healthy – Knight Frank
More than 80,000 sq ft of office space could be taken up in Sheffield city centre in the first six months of this year alone, based on data from Knight Frank. According to the report, Sheffield was one of only three of the UK’s 11 main regional markets to experience a rise in headline office rents in 2010.
