Sheffield to entice developers with bonus

A completion bonus is to be offered by Sheffield City Council to encourage property development in the city, Insider has learnt. Exemptions to infrastructure contributions will be made available as the authority looks to stimulate development activity in the city centre. For certain projects contributions will be scrapped entirely.

Screen 4 LLP secures £50,000
Drug testing company Screen 4 LLP has secured a £50,000 loan from Finance Yorkshire. The Barnsley company, which tests individuals such as airline workers for drug use, will use the money to venture into the UK healthcare market, drug rehabilitation and prison sectors.

Van Mildert heads for Hull
North East fashion retailer Van Mildert has expanded its footprint in Yorkshire by opening a new boutique in Hull. The retailer company has invested more than £300,000 in the 6,000 sq ft retail space in Hull’s Princes Quay Shopping Centre, creating ten new jobs.

Mitsubishi Power Systems Europe has acquired a 35,035 sq ft unit at Navigation Park in Hunslet for its expanded service and parts facility. The company was advised on the acquisition by Leeds-based industrial property consultancy Gent Visick.

CB Richard Ellis has secured two tenants for Minerva House in Leeds with an additional floor of the 58,000 sq ft office building under offer. Recruitment consultancy Blackrock Executive and card payment business Iliad Solutions have agreed five-year leases.
