Feedback will inform next wave of bids - McLean
Leeds City Region Local Enterprise Partnership will use feedback from unsuccessful Regional Growth Fund bids to determine what type of project to support in the next wave of applications. That's according to chairman Neil McLean, who told Insider the first round had been a success, especially when viewed in conjunction with the allocation of an enterprise zone to the region in the Budget.

Kolorcraft makes pressing investment
Ossett-based point-of-sale print business Kolorcraft has agreed an asset funding package with Lombard to support the purchase of a wide-format digital press. The press, which Kolorcraft said is the first of its kind to be operated commercially, is part of a £1m investment in technology by the company.

Losses fall at Discover Leisure
Discover Leisure has posted a pre-tax loss of £1.5m for the six months to 27 February 2011. This is a fall from the £1.9m loss recorded in the same period last year.

Profits up at Wallace & Gromit dairy
Wensleydale Dairy Products has increased profits after success in a HSBC competition. Managing director David Hartley told Insider the dairy had since increased its branding and run a promotion with cheese-loving cartoon combo Wallace & Gromit.

Leeds rail to receive £10m investment
Rail services to Leeds are to benefit from a £10m investment which will introduce 2,000 extra seats each day, it has been announced. Transport secretary Philip Hammond said the money would support the addition of 20 rail carriages on routes serving the city.
