Stubbs targets growth as CSE Global MD
Alan Stubbs, the managing director of Sheffield-based CSE Global (UK), has been promoted to the role of group managing director of CSE Global, the Singapore-headquartered international technology business. Stubbs told Insider he was working on rebranding the business while pursuing an ambitious expansion strategy through organic growth and, in particular, acquisitions.

Small business will not be neglected by RGF - Cameron
Prime Minister David Cameron has emphasised that the Regional Growth Fund is designed to ensure the UK's economic growth is balanced and "spread more fairly across the country". In a speech to business leaders at an event attended by Insider, Cameron said the government would be looking to develop industries of the future, but added it would be a "big mistake" to neglect small high growth businesses he claimed were crucial for growth.

LINPAC Recycling sold to private equity firm
Castleford-based LINPAC Recycling has been sold to Chamonix Private Equity by LINPAC Group, a plastic packaging manufacturer. The deal also included four other LINPAC businesses.

Cold weather hits Marshalls' sales
Huddersfield-based building materials business Marshalls has reported a 4 per cent boost in revenue to £323m for 2010 in a trading update this morning. But it blamed poor weather in the final five weeks of the year for costing the business £5m in sales and £800,000 in profit.

White Horse changes banks
Garforth-based printing equipment supplier White Horse Machinery has switched banks. The company hopes to use facilities provided by Bank Leumi to purchase presses for stock.

Driffield-based haulage company AR Fry has shut down with all employees being made redundant, according to Sheffield-based liquidator The P & A Partnership. The business ceased trading just before Christmas.
