Ridsdale defends his record in football
Former Leeds United chairman Peter Ridsdale has spoken out about the continued attacks on his time at the club from figures including current chairman Ken Bates. Speaking at the Soccerex European Forum, Ridsdale said "four years passed between my departure and Leeds going into administration".

Hull-based asbestos management consultancy AH Allen has been acquired by Silverdell in a £850,000 deal.

ITM secures Carbon Trust funding
Sheffield-based clean fuel company ITM Power has secured an additional Carbon Trust grant funding of £91,956. ITM said the finance will be used towards the continued development of its materials for application in automotive fuel cells.

Cranswick warns of demanding year
Hull-based Cranswick has warned that the upcoming year "may be more demanding than usual", in its fourth quarter trading statement today. But the food products business said it will be "well positioned" to cope with the challenges due to its product range and asset base.

Dart hopes to hit expectations despite war and oil prices
Leeds Bradford Airport-based Dart Group said it expects its pre-tax profitability for the year ended 31 March 2011 to be "in line with current market expectations". That's despite conflict in North Africa, higher fuel costs and "continued consumer uncertainty". In a trading update today, the airline company said its Jet2.com business has been "supported by continued growth from its holidays operation".

Retailers commit to The Ridings Shopping Centre
