Insider Dealmakers Awards Wales 2008
Deal of the Year
National Britannia is top deal
The £91m acquisition of health and safety specialist National Britannia by Connaught was named deal of the year at the Dealmakers Awards, organised by Insider, last night. National Britannia had grown rapidly since a management buyout in 2005. The sale to Connaught, advised by Deloitte, M&A Solicitors and Close Brothers, was the deal that most impressed the corporate finance community in a year full of buyouts, flotations and trade sales. The other shortlisted deals were the purchase of Nuaire by Electra Partners, the management buyout of Williams Medical, the flotation of Moneysupermarket.com, and the management buyout of Penn Pharmaceuticals. The award was sponsored by Venture Structured Finance.
