Owens rolls on with £5.8m for expansion
Owens (Road Services), a haulage company based in Llanelli, has won £5.8m of funding from Centric Commercial Finance for working capital to help finance expansion. Centric stepped in after Owens' previous funder showed a "lack of appetite", according to adviser Smith & Williamson Corporate Finance.

Wynnstay rakes in record revenues
Wynnstay, the farm supplies and retail group based in Llansantffraid, Powys, has reported record revenues of £164.57m for the six months ending 30 April 2011, up from £120.34m for the same period last year. Pre-tax profits rose to £4m from £3.5m.

Jones raises TV worries with trust chair
First minister Carwyn Jones this week used a meeting with Lord Patten, chairman of the BBC Trust, to express concern about funding cuts at BBC Wales and changes to funding arrangements for S4C. Patten said he wanted S4C, which has just cut 29 jobs, to stay "creatively independent".
