PaySwyft sets up in Cwmbran
E-commerce service PaySwyft, founded in 2009, has opened its head office in Cwmbran. The company, which provides an online bill-paying portal, plans to create 27 jobs at the Technium Springboard. PaySwyft was supported by the Assembly Government’s Single Investment Fund.

Italian job for Admiral
Car insurance provider Admiral Group has launched a price comparison website in Italy. Admiral, which has offices in Cardiff and Swansea, expects small initial volumes from Chiarezza.it as it tests marketing campaigns. The company launched price comparison website LeLynx in France last month. Henry Engelhardt, chief executive, described the launch as a “key milestone in our expansion plans”.

Energybuild sinks to a loss
Neath’s Energybuild Group, the coal producer, has reported a net loss of £99,000 for the six months to 31 December 2009, down from a profit of £841,000 in 2008. Production at key asset Aberpergwm Colliery was 42,000 tonnes, down from 65,000 in 2008. Rhidian Davies, managing director of Energybuild, said production at the Colliery was “continuing as anticipated”, and that the group’s target “remains to expand its production to 750,000 tonnes of high-quality anthracite by 2013”.

190-year-old haulage film collapses
Newport haulage firm Ellis Morgan & Sons has gone into administration after a major customer went out of business, leading to the loss of 28 jobs. Cwmbran’s Western Corrugated, which signed a contract with Ellis Morgan in April 2009, went into administration in January, costing the haulage firm £250,000. Ellis Morgan owes its creditors £1.46m. David Hill from restructuring specialists Begbies Traynor is handling the liquidation.

King takes Capital Business Park unit
Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has sold a unit at Cardiff’s Capital Business Park to a local company LSH acted on behalf of Spicer Haart. Local company King Solutions took Unit T1 at the park, which is situated less than four miles from Cardiff city centre.
