Steel fund buys BBC's Cardiff Bay home
British Steel Pension Fund is to buy the BBC’s future Roath Lock Studios and the neighbouring Centre for Creative Industries in Cardiff Bay from Igloo Regeneration Fund. Industry estimates suggest that the Porth Teigr purchase is likely to be worth between £40m and £50m.

A focus on products and investing through the downturn led to an 8 per cent increase in turnover at Nice-Pak International. The Flint-based manufacturer of disposable wipes posted turnover of £186m for the year to 27 June 2010, up from £172m in the previous year.

BAM to build £20m Cardiff Uni block
Cardiff University has appointed BAM Construction to develop its £20m Hadyn Ellis Building. The 10,000 sq ft science-led facility, which aims to achieve BREEAM excellent status, will form the gateway to its Maindy Park campus.

Evans leaves Scarlets role with Short pass
Huw Evans is to step down as chairman of the Scarlets after 14 years in the role. Evans, who pioneered the move of the Scarlets to their Parc y Scarlets stadium, is handing over to Penderyn whisky company chairman Nigel Short.
