Amber and Lambert to run regen fund
The Welsh Assembly Government has appointed Amber Infrastructure and Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) as the fund and investment managers for the Regeneration Investment Fund for Wales (RIFW). The fund is the EU’s Joint European Scheme for Sustainable Investment in City Areas (JESSICA) scheme in Wales.

Forest set to leave AIM
Forest Support Services, the AIM-listed traffic management company, plans to sell its only trading subsidiary to a company run by the group's managing director, Ross Williams. If approved, the deal means Newport-based Forest will leave AIM.

Unit buys design expert
Unit Group, the Swansea-based engineering company, has acquired West Midlands design and procurement specialist Birwelco. Unit’s Engineers and Constructors division acquired Birwelco from Haden Freeman Group in a deal backed by Lloyds.

Admiral spies site for Cardiff HQ
Admiral Group, the insurer, has selected the site for its planned 220,000 sq ft headquarters in Cardiff city centre. The office, to be developed by Midlands-based business Stoford on the former David Street car park site, is set to be the biggest pre-let office project in Cardiff.

South Wales business parks on top
Business parks in South Wales had a strong start to the year in comparison with the rest of the UK, according to research by GVA Grimley. The property consultancy said parks in the area had experienced an increase in occupier activity and rental values remained resilient.

High-growth Dawnus optimistic despite slip
Dawnus Construction, once the fastest growing company in Wales, predicts a return to form this year after its expansion went into reverse. The Swansea firm made a pre-tax profit of £590,000 in 2009, down from £914,000, on turnover which slipped to £62.4m from £69.2m.

Ponty gets £10.5m for makeover
The Welsh Assembly Government has unveiled a £10.5m funding package for Pontypridd town centre. The scheme aims to renovate Taff Street and High Street and improve traffic management in the town.
