Energybuild’s coal comfort with Corus contract
Energybuild, the Neath-based coal producer, has signed a deal with Corus Strip Products UK. Following successful trials, Energybuild will supply a “significant contracted volume” of PCI coal to the steelmaker’s Port Talbot site. Meanwhile, Corus is this week expected to unveil a £60m investment to reduce pollution and its carbon footprint at Port Talbot.

Plain sailing with cross-Atlantic deal
Plain Healthcare, based in Colwyn Bay, has announced a deal to supply its Odyssey TeleAssess clinical decision support system to US company TeleNurse OnCall. This deal is its third international sale in the last three weeks, with the company targeting overseas markets as a potential growth area. Plain Healthcare is a subsidiary of AIM-listed Avia Health Informatics.

Principality’s Griffiths takes society role
Peter Griffiths, the chief executive of Principality Building Society, has been named as deputy chair of the Building Societies Association for 2010/11. Griffiths takes over from David Webster, chief executive of Hanley Economic Building Society, who has been named as chair. Principality appointed Griffiths as chief executive in 2002 and he served as chairman of the CBI Council in Wales.
