Hart could create more priority sectors
Edwina Hart, the new business minister, has told Insider she is considering extending the Welsh Government’s six priority sectors to construction, agriculture and tourism. Hart also said she was consulting on whether Wales should have enterprise zones, and would make an announcement before the summer break. She said Wales’ economic performance was “not good enough”, but warned the Welsh Government had limited means to improve it.

Year of improvement at Welsh Water
Glas Cymru, the group which runs Welsh Water, saw pre-tax profits rise to £70m in the year to March, up from £63m the year before, despite a small drop in revenue to £677m.

KK Fine Foods dines out on consumer cutbacks
KK Fine Foods is reaping the benefit of diners downsizing their eating out aspirations and fewer tourists holidaying abroad. That's according to Graham Jackson, finance director of the Deeside-based frozen food manufacturer, who told Insider the £14m-turnover business aimed to increase sales by 10 per cent in 2011.
