Eco2 sells Mynydd y Betws wind farm
Developer Eco2 has sold Mynydd y Betws Wind Farm in Carmarthenshire to ESB, the Irish state owned electricity utility. Cardiff-based Eco2 said it had struggled to raise bank funding for the project and the sale was the right strategy to ensure Mynydd y Betws’ completion. Eco2 will invest the sale proceeds into its other businesses and the development of a Welsh tidal business. The 15-turbine wind farm will generate 34.5 megawatts of energy and is expected to begin next year.
