Tata chief calls for energy policy
Wales needs an energy strategy to help manufacturers secure power supplies at competitive prices, a senior executive at steel maker Tata has said. Jon Ferriman, director of Tata’s strip products unit, which includes Port Talbot and Llanwern steelworks, made his call in the February issue of Insider, out this week.

Cassidian hopeful on contracts despite job cuts
Cassidian, the defence and technology company based in Newport, said it was hopeful of finding customers for its emergency response system, despite the cancellation of a big contract from the UK government. Cassidian, part of the EADS group, could make up to 200 staff redundant over four months after the Department for Communities and Local Government terminated the FiReControl project.
