Green light for preparatory work at £20m stadium
Plans to protect the site of Rotherham United FC's 12,000-capacity stadium from flood damage are set to be approved by Rotherham MBC at a planning meeting later this week. The plans involve raising the land level at the old Guest & Chrimes foundry site in the centre of Rotherham by two metres to allow the multimillion-pound stadium development to begin.

Deals market recovering but mixed – Yorkshire Bank
The Yorkshire deals market is slowly recovering but remains mixed, according to Yorkshire Bank's Martin Ibbetson. Certain sectors, including manufacturing exporters and food production, were leading the way as the market picked up and Ibbetson told Insider he expected increased deal activity to continue after the surprise contraction of the economy in the fourth quarter of 2010.

Plans for £46m regen project get thumbs up
Sheffield City Council has backed development plans which form part of a £46m regeneration scheme in Stocksbridge. The authority’s West and North Area Planning Board approved the application submitted by Stocksbridge Regeneration for a new testing facility for the town’s steelworks.

SDD relocates HQ
SDD Exhibitions has relocated to a 27,000 sq ft headquarters at Parkway Business Park in Sheffield. The change was brokered by property consultancy Knight Frank which also oversaw internal refurbishment work at the premises.
