Surgical Innovations wins Queen’s award
Surgical Innovations, the Leeds surgical device manufacturer, has won a Queen's Award for Enterprise. The company won the award in the innovation category for its YelloPort+Plus device used for keyhole surgery. The awards are announced each year by the Queen, with judges including representatives of government, industry and commerce and trade unions. Last year, Surgical Innovations moved to new 32,000 sq ft headquarters in Leeds and doubled its staff. Other Yorkshire winners in the innovation category were ATB Morley based in Leeds, Joseph Rhodes of Wakefield, York’s Salamander MooD Active Enterprise Business Unit, Simpcyp based in Sheffield and Doncaster’s Tickhill Engineering.
