Festival to be spur for multinational investment
Andy Tuscher, the regional director of manufacturers' organisation EEF, has told Insider it is hoped the Global Manufacturing Festival will prompt inward investment from larger multinationals into South Yorkshire. Fresh from a meeting with Nick Clegg, Tuscher added that he expected a new finance initiative would be unveiled during the festival.

Builder fined after student falls from ladder
Dinnington-based Alan Fleischer Builders has been fined £1,500 plus £1,320 in costs after a 15-year-old work experience student sustained injuries falling 2.4 metres from a ladder while on placement with the business. Sheffield Magistrates Court heard that while the school’s work placement organisation had carried out a safety assessment on the builder, it had not taken place on the site where the incident happened.
