Year of sport to bring £6m boost to Sheffield
Sheffield is set for an economic boost after city leaders launched a calendar of world championship sporting events for 2011. City council leader Paul Scriven told Insider that the value to the local economy had been estimated at more than £6m, boosting local hotels and businesses and positioning Sheffield as an international sporting destination of choice.

Mandaric deal approved by shareholders
Sheffield Wednesday's shareholders have voted overwhelmingly in favour of Milan Mandaric's takeover of the club at an extraordinary general meeting held this week. The sale to Mandaric's UK Football Investments was approved by 99.7 per cent of the shareholders.
