Business Link to do “valuable job” until closure - Pedder
Tony Pedder, the chairman of Business Link Yorkshire, has emphasised to Insider that the organisation is still "open for business" despite being scheduled to close in November 2011 with the loss of 270 jobs. Pedder, the current chairman of manufacturing giant Sheffield Forgemasters, said his priority was to manage a smooth transition to the new business support arrangement set to be introduced by the coalition government.

EFG scheme not working - Aldermore
Lending under the government’s small business-targeted Enterprise Finance Guarantee (EFG) scheme has fallen a further eight per cent in Yorkshire during the last quarter, according to new bank Aldermore. Aldermore said lending under the EFG scheme in the region dropped from £12m to £11m in the third quarter of the year.
