Metric swoops for Sheffield store
Metric Property Investments, a retail real estate investment trust, has acquired the former Uno furniture store on St Mary's Road in Sheffield for £2.3m from Warner Estate Holdings. DFS has exchanged contracts with Metric to pre-let the 20,000 sq ft refurbished unit on a 20-year lease at an initial rental of £375,000 per annum.

Spencers sells property management arm
Sheffield-based estate agency Spencers has disposed of its property management business to Countrywide. Spencers was advised on the sale by BHP Corporate Finance.

Trio of Yorkshire CCS projects bid for EU cash
Carbon capture storage (CCS) projects in Yorkshire have accounted for three of the 12 UK applications submitted by the government for funding from the European Union’s New Entrant Reserve scheme. The European Investment Bank (EIB) fund is worth between €4.5bn (£3.8bn) and €9bn (£7.6bn) to support CCS and renewable projects across the EU.

Santander secures £150m business fund
Santander has secured £150m in its third round of funding from the European Investment Bank (EIB). Santander said the money would be used to provide discounted loans to qualifying businesses.

UKTI aims for greater global impact

That's according to Mark Robson, UKTI's international trade director for Yorkshire and the Humber, who told Insider there were already deals pending because of the enhanced service.
