Lupton Fawcett takes on 32 former AMS staff
Yorkshire law firm Lupton Fawcett has taken on 32 staff from failed Sheffield law firm Ashton Morton Slack, which went into administration last month. Lupton Fawcett managing director Richard Marshall told Insider the move was part of his firm's intention to position itself as the "mid-market law firm of choice", while also enhancing its Sheffield presence.

Life assurance business Canada Life has acquired 1 St Paul’s Place in Sheffield for £24m. Property consultancy DTZ acted for Canada Life on the acquisition of the property from UK fund manager Standard Life Investments, which was advised by Savills.

VAT hike to hit turnover - Millward
