Zantra Technology hits acquisition trail
Bodmin-based Zantra Technology is on the acquisition trail, according to managing director Karen Broad. She told Insider that IT support specialist Zantra was still on the lookout after completing the buyout of the JAD Logic and JIS businesses from JAD Group for an undisclosed sum. She said: “We need to keep on moving forward and further acquisitions is one of our plans for growth.”

PM launches StartUp Britain
David Cameron has launched StartUp Britain, a campaign which aims to help new entrepreneurs. More than 60 brands have pledged millions of pounds to support the project which is offering backing worth about £1,500 in areas including IT training and internet advertising.

Bridgwater housing development gets the go-ahead
A 216-home development on the site of the former Gerber Juice factory in Bridgwater has been granted planning permission. Taylor Wimpey will now start work on the scheme.

Exeter-based Thrifty Car and Van Rental has expanded into Derby. The vehicle rental business has opened up at an industrial premises in Mansfield Road. Innes England was the agent on the deal.
