Renishaw set for South West expansion
Gloucestershire-based manufacturer Renishaw is planning a major expansion, Insider can exclusively reveal. Ben Taylor, Renishaw's assistant chief executive, revealed the company plans to expand its Gloucestershire operations and to develop its business in Brazil, India and Russia. Taylor's comments follow the company's bumper third quarter results which were unveiled last week.

Fund door opened for smaller businesses
Businesses that turn over less than £10m could still receive a chunk of the Business Growth Fund (BGF), according to its chief executive Stephen Welton. He told Insider turnover "doesn't mean everything" when it comes to funding decisions. Welton's comments come after it was revealed a BGF office would be opening in Bristol.

Revenues at Bristol-based support services company Mitie have increased by 10 per cent and profit has also risen to 9 per cent, as private sector orders – accounting of 63 per cent of 2011 revenues – increased.
