Bristol Port moves step closer to £600m deep-sea terminal
Bristol Port has moved a step closer to building a £600m deep-sea container terminal after it appointed a team of specialist maritime engineers to carry out a detailed site investigation and draw up a series of project designs. The terminal will allow Bristol Port to accommodate ultra-large container ships and provide a massive fillip to the regional economy.

New trials of cannabis MS drug report positive results
Wiltshire-based drug company GW Pharmaceuticals has announced results from three clinical studies of Sativex, its cannabis-based drug for MS patients. The AIM-listed company said its Phase III studies have provided robust evidence of the long-term efficacy of Sativex in symptom improvement in patients with moderate to severe spasticity due to MS.

On-site Bristol Airport hotel plans approved
Plans for an on-site hotel at Bristol Airport have been approved by North Somerset Council. Work on the 251-room facility could now start as early as next year, with completion targeted for winter 2012 or early 2013.

Work begins on £13.5m Redruth office scheme
Work has begun on a £13.5m scheme to build offices and industrial units in Redruth, Cornwall. The first phase will be completed by next summer with the project being scheduled for completion by the end of 2012.
