South West ‘Oyster card’ set to revolutionise regional travel
The first stage of a single purpose smartcard system — like London’s Oyster card — that will allow travellers to use public transport across the South West is set to be launched today. Customers should be able to use the South West smartcard on some journeys within the next two years.

Royal Bath & West showground set for £120m redevelopment
A plan to transform the Royal Bath & West showground in Shepton Mallet into a leisure and business destination has been submitted to Mendip District Council. Developer London & Wharfedale wants to turn the 250-acre showground – best known for hosting agricultural shows in the summer – into a year round destination.

Royal William Yard set for new £1.5m business space
Regeneration company Urban Splash has applied for planning permission to turn the New Cooperage building in Plymouth's Royal William Yard into a £1.5m business space. Under the plans, the space could be used for offices, shops, cafés or restaurants.

Massive Salisbury distribution hub for sale
One of the largest regional distribution hubs of its kind in southern England has just been put up for sale through administrators. High Post, comprising 252,000 sq ft of manufacturing, warehousing, technology and office space, is on the A345 midway between Salisbury and Amesbury.

Bournemouth in car park bid
Bournemouth Borough Council is set to buy an NCP car park in Exeter Road in the town as part of a major regeneration project. The council is looking into the feasibility of a mixed-use development on the site that could include shops and leisure uses.
