NCC strengthens US escrow operations
Manchester IT security and assurance business NCC Group has expanded its US operations with a deal to buy Escrow Associates. NCC will pay a maximum of $9.5m (£5.9m) in cash for the Atlanta-based company.

Essar buys Stanlow refinery for £219m
Indian multinational Essar Group has acquired the Stanlow oil refinery in Ellesmere Port for £219m ($350m). Stanlow is the second-largest refinery in the UK and will provide Essar a direct access in the UK market.
