Parasol sets £500m target
Payroll services provider Parasol is targeting revenues of £500m within the next five years despite a dip in performance over the past 12 months. Founder and chief executive Rob Crossland told Insider that trading in the current year has been "up and down" but said there were still opportunities in the recruitment sector despite the public sector spending cuts.

Merseyrail stays on track
The directors of Merseyrail have said they are "satisfied" with the company's performance in the last financial year despite a fall in sales. The business, which secured a 25-year concession to provide rail services for Merseytravel in 2003, posted a 2 per cent drop in revenues to £124.5m.

Mouchel confirms relocation plans
Mouchel, the civil engineering consultancy, has confirmed it is “exploring the possibility” of relocating some of its support services away from Liverpool. Such a move would affect around 100 staff although the company said no decision has yet been made over potential redundancies.

Duxbury takes Cheshire role
Andy Duxbury, the chief executive of Chester and Manchester-based commercial law firm Aaron and Partners, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Cheshire branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD). He takes over from Nick Robinson who has moved to a national council position within the organisation.

Helena Partnerships gets planning green light
St Helens Council has approved planning permission to housing association Helena Partnerships to build a new head office close to the town centre. The two-storey building in Corporation Street, next to Atlas House, will house more than 200 staff.

Conlon wins £4.5m Netherton contract
Conlon Construction, based in Preston, has secured a £4.5m contract to build a new community centre in Netherton for Sefton Council. The two-storey building will include a sports hall, library, crèche and community rooms.

Moneypenny to expand in Wrexham
