NWDA outlines Merseyside cuts
A raft of projects in Merseyside and Cheshire have been hit by cuts to the Northwest Regional Development Agency's (NWDA) annual budget. The agency confirmed that all uncommitted projects would not receive funding in the 2010/11 financial year and there would be no new financial commitments in 2011/12. The announcement affects the likes of Liverpool Vision, The Mersey Partnership, the Everyman theatre and Chester Zoo.

NFU Mutual reports spike in rural crime
Rural insurer NFU Mutual has reported an increase in rural crime in the North West. As part of a national survey of its 300-plus UK branches in rural towns and villages, NFU said 70 per cent of North West agents reported rural crime in the area had increased.

Hammer time as LSH names first auction date

UK leads way as property investment climbs 11 per cent
Total investment in European property is continuing to increase, with €21.4bn being directly invested in property during in the second quarter of 2010. That's an 11 per cent increase on the first quarter figure of €19.3bn, according to the DTZ European Investment Market Update.
