Speedy sells £35m accommodation division
Newton-le-Willows-based Speedy Hire has sold its loss-making accommodation hire business to Elliott Group, a subsidiary of Algeco Scotsman, in a deal worth £34.9m. Chief executive Steve Corcoran said the disposal would allow the plant hire specialist to focus on its higher-margin core operations – although it has taken a £16m hit on the sale.

Stobart set to raise £120m through placing
