Tetrosyl set for international push
Tetrosyl, one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of car care products and accessories in Europe, is targeting Russia and China as part of the next phase of its growth plans. Peter Schofield, chief executive of the Bury-headquartered company, which counts T-Cut, Triplewax and Carlube among its portfolio of brands, revealed to Insider that the business is on course for sales of £160m in 2010 and is looking to hit the £200m mark next year.

ECF sold to Manx Financial
ECF Asset Finance, which employs 16 people from its headquarters in Wilmslow, has been bought by Manx Financial Group subsidiary Bradburn for £1. Manx Financial’s banking arm Conister Bank has also acquired the ECF loan book for £12.18m.

Bibby expands international footprint
Bibby Financial Services has continued its international expansion with the purchase of a Swedish independent factoring company. The Liverpool-headquartered group has acquired Kopparberg Finans, based in the Ljusnarsberg region of Sweden, for an undisclosed sum.

Recovering markets boost Renold
Recovering markets and new sales growth in China and India have helped to drive sales at Wythenshawe industrial chain manufacturer Renold, the company announced this morning. It also returned to profit after an £8.8m pre-tax loss during the first-half of 2009.

Warrington primary care property group Assura has increased revenue and operating profits during the past six months, the company’s first full period of trading following the sale of the medical services business to Virgin Group.

Mogford to replace Green at UU
Steve Mogford is to replace Philip Green as the chief executive of Warrington-headquartered United Utilities (UU), the company has confirmed. Speculation had been mounting over the weekend that Green was set to depart after completing the sale of the group's non-core assets, a brief he was given when he joined.

HCA pulls housing PFI funding
The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) have pulled the plug on funding for 13 housing Private Finance Initiative (PFI) ‘pipeline’ projects, including two in the North West. The HCA said the withdrawal of support for the projects would save £1.9bn.

Wind farm objections trigger public inquiry
Cheshire West and Chester Council has objected to Peel’s proposals for a 20-turbine onshore wind farm on green belt land in Frodsham. The objection has now triggered a public inquiry.

People come First for Aztec
Aztec Interiors, the Manchester and Liverpool based fit-out contractor, has completed a 5,500 sq ft fit-out for housing trust People First in the City Road building on the southern fringe of central Manchester.
