AppSense secures £43m investment
Warrington software company AppSense has secured a £43m investment from global investment bank Goldman Sachs. The company, based in Daresbury, said the investment would help to expand its product range and help it to venture into new markets like Asia and South America.

Textile company rescued from administration
Managers at Ashton-under-Lyne textile business B&A Quilting have paid £175,000 to buy the company out of administration. The company hit financial problems last year, forcing it to cut its workforce from 140 to 45.

RSM Tenon posts revenue rise
Accountancy firm RSM Tenon has reported a 65 per cent rise in revenues to £121m in the second half of 2010. Adjusted operating profit reached £13.5m in the six month period, compared with £8.8m in the same period the previous year.

Original Factory Shop set for major expansion
Barnfield Construction has secured a deal to build a 100,000 sq ft extension to The Original Factory Shop’s headquarters in Burnley. The design and build contract, due to be carried out over the next five months, will nearly double the company’s head office space on the Orient Business Park.
