Merseytravel deal could be the trigger, says Rice
The completion of the deal whereby transport body Merseytravel will take the 140,000 sq ft office building at Neptune and Countryside’s Mann Island scheme, could be the trigger for further speculative development, according to Nick Rice, senior director at CB Richard Ellis, who advised on the deal. He said: “This deal is one of the largest seen in Liverpool for many years. It is great news for the city’s office market at a difficult time and we are confident that it will bring forward other schemes needed to meet continuing demand for grade A office space.” Merseytravel, which will bring together staff from four different sites, hopes to move into the 11-storey building in around two years.

EV exits H2O
North West-based venture capital firm EV has sold Merseyside communications business H2O Networks to its management team. The deal gives a return of 3.6 times the original investment. H2O chief executive Elfed Thomas said: “Over the last two years, H2O Networks has experienced exponential growth. Our tried and tested proposition has grown from a point-to-point fibre optic solution for businesses to building town- and city-wide networks.”
