RTS proposes sale to Entologi
Salford-based Robotic Technology Systems (RTS) has today said it has conditionally agreed a deal to sell RTS Life Science, which includes the trade and assets of both RTS Flexible Systems and RTS Thurnall, to newly-formed Entologi for £600,000 in cash.

Tayban Developments, a designer and manufacturer of pre-cast concrete, has been bought out of administration. The sale has safeguarded 40 jobs at the company’s headquarters in Horwich, near Bolton.

Airline services provider Omni Serv has secured a £4.8m funding package from the Royal Bank of Scotland’s asset and invoice finance teams in Manchester. The deal has helped it secure a new £12m-a-year contract from the British Airports Authority.

Matalan confirms McGeorge departure as profits rise
Discount fashion retailer Matalan has reported a “satisfactory” first half performance and confirmed that its chief executive Alistair McGeorge has stepped down as chief executive. The business, which is headquartered in Skelmersdale, said finance director Paul Gilbert has become acting chief executive of the group.

Leaders welcome Merseyside transport boost
Chancellor George Osborne has given a huge boost to infrastructure projects in Merseyside and Cheshire with confirmation that the £431m second Mersey crossing between Runcorn and Widnes will go ahead. He also approved the £100m upgrade of rail lines between Liverpool, Manchester, Preston and Blackpool. Halton Council leader Rob Polhill told Insider the projects were "hugely important" for the region, but called on the government to clarify the exact amount of cash the Mersey Gateway scheme will receive.

Pochin to build Robbies visitor centre
Pochin Construction has been awarded another contract for long-term client, Stockport brewing and pub group Frederic Robinson. The contract comprises the refurbishment of the Brew House and creation of a visitors' centre at the Unicorn Brewery in Stockport.

Colliers at the double
The Manchester office of Colliers International has sold the former Allied Carpets distribution depot in Raikes Lane, Bolton, for £1.75m. The 180,000 sq ft warehouse and office facility occupied a 7.4-acre site and was purchased by Bolton-based Mark Two Distributors.
