Prisk says Budget will deliver for businesses
Business and enterprise minister Mark Prisk has vowed that next week’s Budget will have business at its heart and help to strip away the red tape that holds companies back. He said the Chancellor would deliver the most “comprehensive, pro-enterprise Budget in a generation”.

More than 20 management companies, independent record labels and music PR agencies from the North West have this week been looking to broker international deals at the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas – the US’s largest music conference and festival. The trade mission will culminate with a showcase organised by Liverpool Sound City at the British Music Embassy tomorrow.

Lloyds to cut North West jobs
Lloyds is to cut almost 200 jobs in the North West with 140 jobs set to go in Chester and 50 in Manchester. The jobs are going from the bank’s wholesale, retail, insurance and human resources divisions across the UK.
