Businesses target SXSW deals
More than 20 management companies, independent record labels and music PR agencies from the North West have this week been looking to broker international deals at the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas – the US’s largest music conference and festival. The trade mission will culminate with a showcase organised by Liverpool Sound City at the British Music Embassy tomorrow.

Cameron urged to support Liverpool ‘embassy’
Prime Minister David Cameron is being urged to show his support for Liverpool’s economic development by visiting the city’s ‘embassy’ in London. Guy Wallis, co-founder of law firm DWF and the man credited for coming up with the idea, said the government should get behind Liverpool’s effort to promote its commercial and business offer to UK and overseas investors.

Prisk says Budget will deliver for businesses
Business and enterprise minister Mark Prisk has vowed that next week’s Budget will have business at its heart and help to strip away the red tape that holds companies back. He said the Chancellor would deliver the most “comprehensive, pro-enterprise Budget in a generation”.

Lloyds to cut North West jobs
Lloyds is to cut almost 200 jobs in the North West with 140 jobs set to go in Chester and 50 in Manchester. The jobs are going from the bank’s wholesale, retail, insurance and human resources divisions across the UK.

Liverpool based PR agency Liquid has been appointed by Warburtons to market a new product range. Liquid said it was briefed to devise a campaign which would help Warburtons increases sales of its 'Sandwich Alternatives' line of wraps.
