Betfred's Tote offer worth £200m
Warrington-based Betfred this morning confirmed its bid for state-owned bookmaker the Tote is worth "close to" £200m as it attempts to convince the horseracing industry of its suitability. The company, owned by Fred Done, is thought to be one of two parties left in the race to buy the Wigan-headquartered bookmaker alongside a consortium led by former Liverpool FC chairman Sir Martin Broughton.
