Southampton rails against Liverpool cruise plans
Southampton has stepped up its campaign to block Liverpool’s bid to become a fully-serviced cruise facility and prevent liners from starting and finishing in the city. Royston Smith, the leader of Southampton City Council, has set up a meeting with transport minister Mike Penning in what has been dubbed the “last stand for a level playing field for the cruise industry”.
