Henry confident £300m deal will go through
Liverpool FC’s prospective owner has vowed to fend off Tom Hicks and George Gillett’s “last desperate attempt” to remain in control of the Premier League club. John W Henry said his company New England Sports Ventures (NESV) has a £300m “binding contract” with Liverpool.

NCC moves for £14m iSEC
Manchester IT security and assurance business NCC Group has acquired San Francisco-based security testing services provider iSEC Partners in a deal worth up to £14.4m. The company’s chief executive Rob Cotton said the deal will “substantially increase” its presence and profile in the US.

People’s History Museum wins Building of the Year
The redeveloped People’s History Museum was last night named as the Manchester city region’s Building of the Year by the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce. The project consists of the refurbishment of the existing Grade II-listed Pump House Museum and the creation of a new build four-storey extension clad in corten steel.
