Green light for Lancashire LEP – without Blackburn
A local enterprise partnership (LEP) has been given the go-ahead in Lancashire – but the partnership’s footprint will exclude the area covered by Blackburn with Darwen Council. Lancashire County Council leader Geoff Driver told Insider that communities secretary Eric Pickles confirmed the LEP status in a letter to him last night.

Britton Group sold to Sun European
Sun European Partners, the European arm of US private investment firm Sun Capital Partners, has bought Cheshire plastic packaging company Britton Group in a deal worth a reported £90m. The business has been sold by the direct principal investments division of HSBC.
