Cheshire engineering, procurement and construction services company Simon Carves was being propped up with loans of £240m from its Indian parent company Punj Lloyd (PL) Group when it entered administration, a new report has revealed. And the business, which was sold back to a subsidiary of PL Group in a pre-pack deal for £1m, left debts of more than £40m to suppliers and dumped its pension fund as a result of its failure.
