Nine successful North West bidders for RGF cash

A total of nine of the 89 bids submitted from the North West for the government’s new £1.4bn Regional Growth Fund (RGF) have been successful, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills confirmed this morning.

Wilmslow shower and tile maker Norcros this morning said it enjoyed a strong finish to its financial year, with revenues for the year to the end of March expected to be up 7 per cent to £195m.

Accrol pulps the competition

Blackburn-headquartered Accrol Papers has revealed plans for a £6m plant investment that will create more than 50 jobs. The company, which can manufacture one million toilet rolls and more than 500,000 kitchen rolls per day, also expects to increase sales by 30 per cent to £50m in its current financial year.

Marlwood slips into the red

Sales have fallen at licensed goods trading business Marlwood, based in Stockport, as the company slipped to a full-year loss.
