Palm oil company to invest £9m in Liverpool plant
New Britain Palm Oil (NBPO) is to invest £9m to build a processing facility at its Liverpool palm oil refinery. The company said the site would be the world's first operation of its type dedicated to manufacturing bakery products made with palm oil that comes from sustainable sources.

Judges in place for innovation awards
The judging panel for this year’s Merseyside Innovation Awards (MIA), set up to find some of the region’s most innovative businesses, is now in place. LJMU professor to scrutinise on regen
A Liverpool John Moores University professor has been appointed to a House of Commons committee studying regeneration. Professor Michael Parkinson, the university's director of the European Institute for Urban Affairs, is to serve on the Select Committee on Communities and Local Government's inquiry into the government’s policy on the issue.

Japanese architect to oversee Festival Garden works
A Japanese landscape architect is visiting Liverpool’s Festival Gardens to help complete the restoration of The Japanese Garden, one of the centrepiece features of the original attraction. The restoration of the Festival Gardens is being carried out by landowner Langtree, backed by a £3.7m grant from the Northwest Regional Development Agency.
