Liverpool city region gets SmartGrid

The Liverpool city region has been chosen as the host for a trial of the green SmartGrid technology, a move likely to support the economy and create jobs. Designed to improve the reliability and quality of electricity supplies, while also lowering carbon emissions through improved energy efficiency, the system will involve significant network infrastructure investment in the area south of Liverpool.
