Sector focus can drive Liverpool jobs
Four high-growth sectors have the potential to create up to 128,000 jobs in the Liverpool city region over the next decade, a study published this morning has revealed. The Mersey Partnership’s economic review has found that the low carbon, SuperPort, tourism and knowledge sectors can dive the region’s economy in the wake of the swingeing public sector cuts.

Biofortuna secures £1m package
Liverpool molecular diagnostics company Biofortuna has secured a funding package from EV Tech, the technology investment arm of EV, through its RisingStars Growth Fund. The funding follows an initial investment in May 2010.
