PwC looks to continue momentum
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has reported an increased turnover of £2.33bn in the year to 30 June, up 4 per cent on its 2009 performance. Nick Boden, senior partner at PwC in the North West, said the results were “solid” given the economic and market backdrop.

Proventec restructuring moves closer
Liverpool steam-cleaning and coatings company Proventec, whose shares on AIM were suspended in July pending clarification of the company's financial position, has moved closer to a restructuring deal.

Businesses hit by late payment
Almost three quarters of companies in the North West are not getting paid on time, with 10 per cent of businesses not chasing debts because they are worried about losing business. That's according to research commissioned by Positive Collections, which also found 43 per cent of businesses are more likely to accept excuses from late paying customers than before the recession hit.

Companies looking to increase workforce
More than half of North West businesses plan to increase their workforce over the next 12 months, according research released today by Yorkshire Bank. Fifty-four per cent of companies surveyed said that recruitment plans would go ahead, while 51 per cent are confident their business will grow over the coming year.
