North West exports can drive recovery – UKTI

The North West is well positioned to be at the “vanguard of an export-led recovery”, according to UK Trade & Investment’s regional director Clive Drinkwater. His comments follow new figures that show exports from the North West grew 6 per cent to almost £25bn last year.

NWDA shifts tourism responsibility

The Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) has officially transferred its responsibility for tourism to the region’s five individual tourism boards. Nick Brooks-Sykes, director of tourism at the NWDA, told Insider that removing the agency's £25m tourism budget would mean “consequences” including fewer capital projects.
