Swine flu sales boost Novartis
Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics, which employs more than 700 people in Speke, has increased revenues by 25 per cent, boosted by a multimillion pound contract to supply its swine flu vaccine. The company, owned by Swiss multinational Novartis, reported turnover of £342.3m for the year to 31 December 2009, up from £273.6m a year earlier. Pre-tax profits were up from £141.7m to £158.9m.
