£340m refinancing at Bibby Group of Factors
Liverpool-headquartered Bibby Group of Factors, the UK’s largest independent factoring and invoice discounting provider, has secured a £340m refinancing package from a syndicate of banks. The company’s existing facility was due to expire in 2012 and the new deal sees it secure its funding until 2014.

Intrinsic moves for Dataplex
Merseyside-based unified communications company Intrinsic Technology has bought the trade, certain assets and goodwill of Dataplex Systems for an undisclosed sum. Dataplex has offices in Manchester and Oxford.

Cadwalader scoops HSBC deal
Gwynedd-headquarted Cadwalader Ice Cream has opened a new outlet in Manchester’s Trafford Centre after securing funding from HSBC Commercial Banking. The opening has created 20 new jobs and has taken the company’s total workforce to 150.

Workplace injury toll falls in Merseyside
Employers in Merseyside are being urged to consider health and safety regulations as it has been revealed more than 570 workplace injuries were incurred in the region last year. There were also three fatalities in 2009/10.

Unite suspends strike action at Heinz
Unite union members at the Heinz factory in Wigan have suspended strike action to consider a new pay offer from the company. The 24 hour-strike action due to start today was called off following talks which resulted in the new package being put to workers.

£70m framework unveiled
