McInerney Homes calls in the administrators
Property developer McInerney Homes, whose UK headquarters is in Wigan, has gone into administration, blaming the continuing slump in the residential property market for having a “severe detrimental impact” on cashflow. Administrators at KPMG have been appointed to seven companies within the UK arm of McInerney Holdings.

£7.5m investment for Kitwave
Kitwave, a wholesaler of tobacco, confectionery and drinks, has received a funding boost of £7.5m from NVM Private Equity (NVM). The company, which has bases in Bolton and Carlisle, said the capital injection would support its growth strategy.

HICA to bring 100 jobs to Lancashire
Care home company HICA Group has delivered a timely boost for Lancashire’s economy with the confirmation that it is to create more than 100 jobs in the region over the next six months. The company’s Lisa Barnes told Insider the group would initially concentrate on Chorley, Leyland and Preston, but plans are in place to expand services across the North West over the next three years.
