Rotary acquires CA Sothers
Chester-based Rotary UK has taken over Birmingham mechanical and electrical installation and maintenance services provider CA Sothers Ltd. Cobbetts advised on the deal.

Provexis draws down £2.4m
Life sciences group Provexis, which has research and development facilities based in Liverpool, has raised net proceeds of £2.4m by drawing down on an equity financing facility with Darwin Strategic. The board expects the cash will accelerate its strategy of developing or acquiring new medical food technologies.

Medicash wins ACC contract
Liverpool-based healthcare cash plan provider Medicash has won a contract with ACC Liverpool, the home of the Echo Arena and BT Convention Centre. The deal with Medicash will provide ACC's 100-strong workforce with a corporate health plan.

GVA Grimley reports profitable year
Consultancy GVA Grimley has announced its results for the year to May 2010. The group, which operates from 12 UK offices, turned over £129.5m, delivering pre-exceptional operating profits of £18.4m. This translates to a net profit before tax, after payment of bonuses, of £5.7m.

Businesses in the North West need more sales from their internet presence, according to research by Brookson Enterprise Freelance Fair. Contact Company buys second building
Wirral call centre The Contact Company has acquired the 29,582 sq ft Queensgate office building in Birkenhead to act as its second location in the town. Knight Frank sold the building on behalf of the LPA receivers.
